In 2003, Sonia took part in Granada Television's major project for ITV1, 'Reborn in the USA'.

Reborn in the USA was designed to put former pop idols (such as Sonia, Elkie Brooks, Michelle Gayle, Gina G and more), back on the road. In the ITV Saturday night show, presented by Davina McCall, cameras followed the acts as they travel the USA on a tour bus playing bars and clubs.

Local (UK) audiences will choose their favourites and the two least popular acts will be put to a Pop Idol-style phone vote by the British public. Whoever loses will be kicked off the bus and return home. 'This show gives the popstars a change to be rediscovered with a clean slate' said producer, Nicholas Steinberg. 'American audiences won't know who they are so they will be judged purley on their voices'. The series began in March 2004 and the tour took place in New Orleans, Philadelphia, Detriot, Memphis, Nashville, Cleveland and New York. The artists performed cover versions of songs connected with each city they visited.

Sonia was the fifth act to be evicted from the series.
